Errol’s Bowness is a new cocktail and champagne lounge with small plates food offering in a former bank in the heart of Bowness.

It is owned and operated by Lakes Luxury Club. It’s associated with accommodation in the form of two aparthotels one in the same building some in Windermere.

The business is high end contemporary luxurious environment which is both inviting relaxing but in a boutique environment that oozes sophistication. Still with the VIP area of the old vault it’s a magnificent jewel in the food quarter of Bowness.

Job summary

We have an opportunity for an Commis Chef to join our high calibre team. This role gives a keen Commis Chef chance to learn and develop in a new establishment with the opportunity to learn from an industry leading chef. You will need to deliver and prepare food and to assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in all culinary aspects ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. All team members are expected to care for our customers in a friendly, helpful, efficient and professional manner at all times.


  • Prepare all food for service
  • Prepare the vegetables and salads, help cook the starters and deserts and depending on your experience
  • Report for duty in good time, clean and tidy wearing the correct uniform
  • Strive to anticipate customer needs whenever possible and react to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Treat customers and colleagues in a polite and courteous manner at all times.
  • Give full co-operation to any customer or colleague requiring assistance in a prompt, caring manner
  • Perform all tasks to a consistent standard
  • Minimise operating costs by using all equipment and products in accordance with company or manufacturers guidelines
  • Report all maintenance requirements and hazards in the workplace to the Sous Chef or Head Chef
  • Comply with statutory and legal requirements for fire, health & safety, food safety, licensing and employment
